15 houses gutted, 16 cattle charred to death in Bhadrak village fire

Bhadrak: At least 15 houses of three families were reduced to ashes and 15 cattle charred to death in a massive fire which broke out in Agiragadia village under Agarpara police limits in Bhadrak district last night.

As per the report, sparks erupted in one Sambhunath Nayak’s house late in the night and later spread to his cattle shed. Till Nayak’s family woke up and launched firefighting efforts on their own at least 6 cows and 10 goats were burnt alive in the blaze.

After the flames started spreading to Kailash Nayak and Bharat Nayak’s houses located in the neighbourhood the villagers called up Agarpara fire brigade office and fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained an electric short circuit is being blamed for it.
