15-Ft long King Cobra rescued from house in Angul

Angul: A fifteen-ft long King Cobra was rescued from the house in Talagarh village under Bantala police limits in the district on Friday.

According to reports, the family members of one Rabinarayan Dehuri spotted the poisonous snake at their bedroom this morning.

The horrified family soon called up the local forest department and Snake Helpline members. The forest officials along with two snake catchers immediately reached the spot and carefully rescued the snake.

Later the snake was released into the nearby forest.

With the destruction of forest causing inconvenience for the wildlife, the snake might have moved to the human habitation, said the forest officials.
