Balangir: A 14-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling of his home in Indira Nagar area under Balangir Town Police Station last night.
The deceased has been identified as Raj Parbhoe.
Raj, who studied in Class 8, took the extreme step while his family members were away from home to attend a marriage function at a relative’s house in the neighbouring village.
“I don’t know why he committed suicide. We were out of home when got the information. He was never seen in a mentally disturbed state,” claimed Sansar Parbhoe, father of the deceased.
Balangir Town Police reached the spot and started investigation in the case after rushing the body for postmortem.
