Bhubaneswar: The Government of India (GoI) on Thursday launched its second tranche of auction for commercial coal mining offering a total of 67 coal mines including 14 from Odisha.
Out of the total 67 mines offered, 37 have been fully explored, while the rest have been partially explored.
The coal mines will be auctioned under the 12th tranche of auction under the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015.

- Mahanadi Coal Block
- Nuagaon Telisahi Coal Block
- Ramchandi Promotion Block Coal Block
- Alaknanda Coal Block
- Bartap Coal Block
- Burapahar Coal Block
- Dip Extn of Belpahar Coal Block
- Dip Side of Chatabar Coal Block
- Kardabahal-Brahmanbil Coal Block
- Kosala West Coal Block
- Phuljhari East & West Coal Block
- Saradhapur North Coal Block
- Tentuloi Coal Block
It is to be noted here that a total of 19 mines spread across Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra were auctioned in the first tranche of commercial coal mining auctions held last year with the premium quoted by the successful bidders ranging from 9.5% to 66.75%.
