13 Odisha Policemen Selected For President’s Police Medal, Police Medal

Bhubaneswar: A total of 13 policemen from Odisha have been selected for the President’s Police Medal and Police Medal this year. While two police offers will get the President’s Police Medal, 11 others will receive the Police Medal, according to the list released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). They will be conferred with the prestigious medals on the occasion of the Republic Day celebration.

Director Intelligence Radha Kishan Sharma and Deputy Subedar Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Budhi Bahadur Thappa have been selected for the President’s Police Medal for their distinguished services.

The 11 police officials who have been selected by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are: S Praveen Kumar (Inspector General of Police, Law and Order), Manoranjan Satpathy (Assistant Sub-Inspector, Vigilance Directorate), Ashok Kumar Dehury (Deputy Commandant, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy), Bhabani Shankar Mishra (Additional SP, SIW, Bhubaneswar), Rabindra Kumar Das (Additional SP, Special Branch, Rourkela), Prakash Chandra Pal (Assistant Commissioner Of Police, ACP Zone VI, Bhubaneswar), Saroj Bhoi (Crime Havildar, Sundergarh), Seikh Nassiruddin (Driver Havildar, Vigilance Directorate), Gautam Patra (Constable, Sunabeda, Koraput), Hemant Bahadur Khatry Chhetry (Subedar OSAP Second Battalion, Jharsuguda) and Budda Tamang (Deputy Commandant, SOG Bhubaneswar)

Likewise, Sujata Das, District Probation Officer, Debraj Pradhan, Chief Warder and Maheswar Behera, Warder from the State will receive President’s Correctional Service Medals for Distinguished Service.

The Correctional Service Medal will be given to D. Ramesh, Warder, and Bhagwan Pradhan, Warder for Meritorious Service.

The President’s Fire Service Medal for Gallantry will also be given to Kasyap Kumar Pattanaik, Leading Fireman while the President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service will be given to Kamalakant Puhan, Leading Fireman.
