12 places in Odisha record temperature above 37 degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has informed that as many as 12 places in Odisha have recorded day temperatures above 37 degrees Celcius.

Reportedly, the weather department informed that among the 12 places on Monday, Balangir recorded the highest with 38.3 degrees Celsius.

“As the airflow from the west to northwest set to intensify, the day temperature is likely to rise by 3 to 4 degrees across the State,” added MeT.

A heatwave Yellow Warning has been issued for Bolangir, Sonepur, and Boudh districts on March 16, whereas for Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Nayagarh, and Khordha on March 17.

Notably on Monday, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also recorded 36.6 degree and 36 degree Celsius respectively.

The daytime temperature also remained above 37 degrees in 12 cities of the State. Jharsuguda recorded the highest after Balangir with 38.2°C, followed by Angul (38.1°C), Sambalpur (37.5°C), Nayagarh (37.5°C), Boudh (37.5°C), Baripada (37.4°C), Hirakud (37.3°C), Sonepur (37.3°C), Talcher (37°C), Balasore (37°C), Bhadrak (36.6°C), Malkangiri (36.5°C), Bhawanipatna (36.5°C), Phulabani (36.1°C), Chandbali (36°C), Cuttack (36°C), Rayagada (35.5°C), Koraput (35°C), Jajpur (35°C), Keonjhar (34.7°C), Chatrapur (34°C), Paralakhemundi (33.5°C), Gopalpur (33.6), Paradip (33.2°C), Puri (32.5°C), Daringibadi (32.5°C).
