Nabarangpur: Twelve migrant labourers, including two minors, were rescued near Mangalam square in Nabarangpur late last night, while allegedly being trafficked to Tirupur in Chennai.

Acting on a tip-off, the Police intercepted a bus en-route to Visakhapatnam and rescued the labourers. Two middlemen have also been detained in connection with the incident.

As per reports, the labourers were going to Chennai where the women would have apparently worked in a textile organisation while the men would have joined a borewell company.

Meanwhile, the cops have initiated a probe to gain further insights. Arrangements are being made to send back the rescued persons to their native places.
