Malkangiri: In a major success, police arrested as many as 12 Maoists from different places of Malkangiri district this morning.
Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP) Jagmohan Meena informed that combing operations were conducted by the security personnel in Kalimela, Mathili and Chitrakonda area of the district during which the Maoists were arrested.
“We have arrested 12 Maoists today by conducting combing operations at different places of the district like Kalimela, Mathili and Chitrakonda. The arrested Maoists are involved in different criminal cases including murder cases of Muya Kabasi, Dambru Nayak and Sadhu Khemdu. Most of them are hardcore militias,” said Meena while speaking to the reporters.
“Several cases are pending against them at various police stations in the district,” he added.
