12 hurt in stray dog bite near Rourkela Steel Plant premises

Rourkela: Locals were left in a state of panic in Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) area today morning after at least 12 persons suffered canine bites after being attacked by stray dogs.

The incident took place during the rush hours of the morning, when people were busy in their daily chores inside the plant premise. A group of stray dogs chased the commuters and attacked them randomly unleashing a fear.

The injured were rushed to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) immediately after the incident.

Notably, the stray dog population has gone up sharply on the plant premises over past few months. Administration had formed at least three squads to catch the dogs three days ago.
