12-hour Jagamohanpur bandh observed in Keonjhar over undeclared power cuts

Keonjhar: Normal life came to a standstill in at least four panchayats of Telkoi block in Keonjhar district today following a 12-hour Jagamohanpur bandh call given by electricity consumers protesting undeclared power cuts.

The bandh observation which started at 6 am in the morning and continued till 12 noon witnessed a complete closure of shops and market places along with educational institutions.

Government offices including block office also remained closed in view of the bandh as the agitating locals resorted to picketing and burnt tyres on the village streets preventing commuting.

Locals also blocked the NH-49 during the protests causing hundreds of vehicles to remain stranded on either sides of it.
