12-hour bandh for NAC status cripples life in Sinapali

Nuapada: Normal life came to a standstill in Sinapali town in Nuapada district today following a 12-hour bandh observation by Nagarika Committee in demand for Notified Area Council (NAC) to the area.

The bandh which started at 6 am in the morning witnessed the Nagarika Committee members staging road blockades at key places in the town by burning tyres.

Road communication to Dharmagarh and Khadial from Sinapali was completely cut off due to the protest posing tough time for commuters.

Similarly, educational institutes including schools and colleges along with all government and private offices remained closed due to the bandh observation to prevent any untoward incident from occurring.

Business establishments, shops and roadside eateries downed their shutters during the protest.

The Committee members have alleged that despite fulfilling the eligibility criteria to get declared as a NAC, Sinapali is suffering constant administrative apathy.
