Keonjhar: Normal life came to a grinding halt in the Joda area in the district Thursday morning due to a dawn to dusk bandh call given by Joda Development Council, a local group. Vehicular movement on the roads in the Joda city was completely disrupted during the bandh giving tough time to commuters.
Supporters of Joda Development Council staged road blockades at several places in Joda town since the morning today and demanded immediate steps on the part of the government to set up a new bus stand at Kamarajoda. They also demanded construction of a bypass route connecting Ranasala and Bamebari and speeding up of other infrastructural development initiatives in the Joda area.
The district administration jad made ample security arrangements to avert any untoward incident during the bandh.
