12-hour bandh by lawyers cripples life in Boudh

Boudh: Normal life came to a standstill Boudh today following a 12-hour bandh call observation across western Odisha by lawyers’ association demanding a permanent High Court bench.

Boudh Civil and Criminal Bar Association which extended its support to the bandh of late also demanded for the inclusion of Boudh into the Revenue Division, Northern Range of Odisha.

While shops and other business establishments remained closed due to the bandh observation which started at around 6 am in the morning, streets wore a deserted look due to picketing by lawyers.

The lawyers’ association has appealed the people of western Odisha to overwhelmingly support the bandh to make it a success for the benefit of the entire region.

The essential services like medicine retail, ambulance and milk supply were kept out of the purview of the bandh in Boudh, Harabhanga and Kantamal blocks.

Ample arrangement of the police force was also made during the bandh observation to keep untoward incidents at bay.
