Khordha: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders, police seized around 12 grams of brown sugar and arrested two persons by conducting a raid in Gangapada area under Jatni police limits in Khordha district last night.
The held peddlers have been identified as Sagar Pahadasingh (25) of Panabaraz are in Khordha district and Saikh Sabir (38) of Jaleswar area of Balasore district.
The raid was conducted at Gangapada old tollgate by a joint team of the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police and Jatni Police post a tip-off. After intercepting a bike the peddlers duo was riding on, the police seized a packet containing around 12 grams of brown sugar along with cash worth Rs 12,600 and three mobile phones.
The held peddlers have been charged under the relevant sections of NDPS Act and Sub Inspector Suchismita Khandel is investigating into the case.
