100kgs Dolphin Carcass Spotted In Bhadrak Of Odisha

Chandbali: A dead dolphin has been rescued from a net in Krittibaspur village on the Salandi river under Gobindpur panchayat in Tihidi block of Bhadrak district.

It is reported to weigh about a hundred kilograms (100kgs). The dolphin was caught in a net on Wednesday afternoon while fishing in the Salandi River.

The dolphin was pronounced dead at the scene. The dead dolphin was reportedly taken for further investigation by the forest department.

It is reported that dolphins flock to the coastal Baitarani and Salandi rivers in Bhadrak. While dolphins are active in freshwater, there have been records of them falling into fishing nets at different times.
