10 ft long Python rescued in Odisha

Keonjhar: Officials of Anandpur Forest range on Friday rescued a rock python, approximately 10 ft long, near Kolimati forest in the district in Odisha. Locals alleged that the python had killed a goat and swallowed it.

Some passersby spotted the python at a static condition early on the morning. They immediately called the forest officials.

The python was later released to the nearby forest. However, it was seen unmoved as it had allegedly swallowed a goat.

The giant snake will take at least six hours to be normal, forest officials said.

Most snakes are burrowing reptiles and they spend most of their time underground, but during the monsoon their hiding places usually get flooded and they are forced to venture into human habitations, informed an official.
