10-feet-long King Cobra rescued in Ganjam village

Berhampur: Residents were left in a state of panic in Pendurabadi village under Digapahandi Forest Range in Ganjam district today following rescue of a 10-feet-long King Cobra from a house.

As per the report, members of a family spotted the reptile while sneaking into a room in the morning and called up Snake Helpline.

The Helpline officials rushed to the spot and caught the snake after a Herculean effort and later released into Changudidei Reserve Forest.

While the snake didn’t harm anybody in the house into which it had entered forest officials have suspected that the rising mercury level and water scarcity might have compelled the reptile to take shelter in nearby human habitats.
