Keonjhar: At least one labourer was killed and seven others sustained critical injury after a borewell lorry carrying them turned turtle in Barabanka area under Kanjipani police limits today.
While deceased has been identified as Dharam Yadu, the identities of the injured are yet to be ascertained.
As per the report, the mishap took place early this morning while the borewell lorry was on its way to Bimala area under Telkoi block to get engaged in some work when the mishap took place. While an uphill driving at the Barabanka ghati the driver of the lorry lost control over the wheels causing the vehicle to turn turtle.
While Yadu died on the spot, the injured were rushed to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition.
Police have reached the spot and seized the mangled lorry to start investigation.
