1 killed, 4 critical after falling into electric trap laid for wild boar

Berhampur: At least one person was killed and four others sustained critical injuries after stumbling upon an electric trap laid to hunt wild boar in Gundabandha village in Ganjam district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Duryodhan Mallick of the same village.

As per the report, Duryodhan along with four others in his village had been to Dakhinpur area in some work when the mishap took place. While crossing the road near the water treatment plant, they stumbled upon the trap and got electrocuted.

While Duryodhan died on the spot, rest four were rushed to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur for treatment by some locals who rescued them.

Berhampur Sadar Police has seized the body for autopsy and started an investigation into the incident.
