Angul: At least one person of a family was killed and two other sustained critical injuries after the wall of a room they were sleeping in collapsed and fell on them in Helei village under Kiakata panchayat of Angul district last night.
As per the report, family members of one Susil Hati of the village were asleep inside their asbestos house late last night when the mishap took place. A week portion of a wall of the house suddenly caved in and fell on them leaving Susil’s wife Pushpanjali, elder daughter Priayanka, son and minor daughter came under the debris.
While Susil who was sleeping far from the wall also sustained minor injury in the incident his wife and elder daughter turned critical. His only son sustained was also hurt.
All the injured were rushed to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) following the mishap, where doctors declared Susil’s minor daughter dead. Treatment of the rest is underway at the hospital.
Police have reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
