Champua: A man was killed while four others sustained critical injury in a road accident in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Monday night.
As per reports, five people were returning home in a Bolero vehicle after attending a marriage festival in Rajabasa area under Champua police limits. The driver lost balance over the steering and hit the vehicle to an electric pole near Naibuga village under Bamebari police limits in Keonjhar district.
Following the accident, the passers-by rescued the five injured persons and rushed them to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital. However, one of them succumbed to the injury on the way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, as the condition of the injured driver deteriorated he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The remaining three injured persons are under treatment at the Keonjhar District Headquarter Hospital (DHH).
