Cuttack: Police have detained one person in Cuttack in relation to an allegation of attempt to rape. Malgodown Police has detained the person on the basis of an FIR lodged by a woman who claimed that the accused called for her to a laboratory and attempted to rape her on March 17.
As per reports, one Basanta Kumar Bal has been detained by Malgodown Police in Cuttack of Odisha on Friday on the basis of a complaint lodged where a woman complained that Bal called her to the a laboratory situated in College Chowk area and attempted to rape her.
It has also been claimed in the FIR that the accused had earlier also took her with him to Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Paradip. He was allegedly threatening the woman of killing her husband.
It has also been claimed that Bal is involved in a case of murder in Paradip.
