1 dead, another injured after coming in contact with wire laid for hunting

Bhanjanagar: In a shocking incident, at least one person was killed and another sustained critical injuries after coming in contact with a live electric wire allegedly laid for hunting wild animals in Dorabgad village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district last night.

The mishap took place while the deceased identified as Narasingh Dora and his brother Nageswar Dora of the same village had been to a nearby forest late last night to search their missing goat.

As per the report, due to the darkness both the brothers unknowingly touched a live electric wire laid down in the village and got an electric shock. While Narasingh died of electrocution on the spot his brother sustained critical born injuries.

After getting information some locals of the village rushed Nageswar to Aska Hospital and shifted him to MKCG Medical in Berhampur due to critical condition.

Kabisuryanagar Police have seized the body from the spot and launched an investigation to find out the culprits who had laid down the wire for hunting in the forest.
