Rayagada: In a suspected food poisoning case, a minor died and eight others fell sick after consuming a marriage feast in Sikarpai village under Kalyansinghpur block in Rayagada district today.
As per the report, the victims had gone to attend the feast which was being held in the village last night. Soon after returning home around a dozen of people reported stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
The victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where a minor boy succumbed to the sickness.
While the treatment of the sick persons is underway at the hospital, the district administration has sent a medical team to the spot to take stock of the situation.
