1 Dead, 7 Critical As Car Rams Into Tree At Sundergarh Of Odisha

Rourkela: A person died while seven tourists were critically injured as a car rammed into a roadside tree in Talasara area of Sundergarh district of Odisha on Sunday.

The deceased identified as Bitu Maharaj was driving the vehicle while the other seven were passengers.

According to reports, three families were travelling in three vehicles from Jharsuguda to Kanakund in Sundergarh for a picnic. However one of the three vehicles lost its control and hit a tree on the roadside near Subdega fire station.

The collision was so strong that it killed Bitu on the spot while the passengers were left injured.

On being informed, the Talasara police rushed to the accident spot, sent the body for an autopsy and admitted the injured to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) Sundergarh.

However, as the condition of the injured persons deteriorated and they were shifted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) Rourkela.

The cops have initiated a probe in the incident and are investigating for further details about the case.
