Kalahandi: In a tragic incident, one person has been killed and six others have sustained critical injuries in a road accident at Biju Expressway near Ampani police station in Kalahandi.
The deceased has been identified as Rukmana Sahu of Urmal village in Chhattisgarh.
Reportedly, the Bolero, carrying people including a bride and groom, collided head-on with the truck at Biju Expressway near Bhursaguda village late on Wednesday night.
On getting the information, the Ampani police along with the 108 emergency ambulance arrived at the spot and rescued the driver of Bolero. He was immediately rushed to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) in Kokasara for medical treatment. However, Rukmana was pronounced brought dead.
On the other hand, six others including the bride and groom sustained critical injuries and have been admitted to Dharmagarh hospital.
Thereafter, the Ampani police filed an accident case and launched a probe into the matter.
