Dhenkanal: In yet another road mishap in the State, a woman was killed and her nephew sustained critical injuries after the bike they were traveling in was hit by a tipper lorry in Kulei under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal today.
The deceased has been identified as Sumana Samal (30) of Santapada village.
As per the report, Sumana was traveling pillion with his nephew Jeet Ranjan Rout on a bike and the duo was en-route to home when the mishap took place. Driver of a tipper truck which was coming from the opposite direction lost control over the wheels and struck them on Kulei canal road.
While Saumana died on the spot following the accident, Jeet was rushed to Talcher Sub-Divisional Hospital in critical condition by some locals.
Police have reached the spot and started investigation after sending the body for autopsy.
