Koraput: Ganja worth around Rs 10 lakh has been seized in Koraput district of Odisha.
The Machkund Police got a reliable tip-off about the contraband and conducted a raid near Badapada ghat under the Machkund police station limits.
One person has been arrested in this connection. Further investigation is underway.
It is noteworthy that on November 30, huge quantity of ganja has been seized from Bhubaneswar railway station platform.
On the basis of a reliable information, Government Railway Police (GRP) caught two peddlers red handed on the railway station platform.
The cops have seized 12 bags of ganja from their possession and initiated an investigation into the matter.
The seized 140 kgs of ganja was being smuggled to Jharkhand’s Ranchi from Koraput, said reports.
The worth of seized ganja has been estimated to be Rs 14 lakhs.
The GRP is yet to ascertain the identity of the arrested peddlers.
