Zimbabwe Cricket legend Heath Streak diagnosed with cancer

Zimbabwe Cricket legend Heath Streak has been diagnosed with stage-four colon and liver cancer, said reliable reports.

Cricketer Heath Streak the former Zimbabwean all-rounder has been diagnosed with stage-four colon and liver cancer.

It is worth mentioning that, he is the all-time leading wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in Test Cricket and in ODI Cricket in the International Cricket circle.

After the news of his illness, his family has flown to the United Kingdom to support him and be there for him during his final few days.

“Heath Streak is on his last legs. Family en route to South Africa from the UK. Seems only a miracle will save him now. Prayers up (sic),” the country’s Sports Minister wrote on Twitter.

Heath has cancer and is undergoing treatment under one of the most respected Oncologists in South Africa, said his family. The family members further quipped that,  he remains in good spirits and will continue to fight this disease in a similar vein to that which his opponents faced during his revered days on the cricket field.

The family further requested the media to give them privacy. They appealed to all to pray for the health and speedy recovery of the cricketer.

Heath Streak was one of the most respected players in the golden era of cricket. He holds a number of records under his name in the international cricket scene. In world cricket he is the first and only Zimbabwean bowler to have taken over 100 Test wickets. In addition to that, he is  one of four Zimbabwean bowlers to have taken over 100 ODI wickets.
