Yuvraj Singh retires from international cricket

Mumbai: Mumbai: India’s swashbuckling all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Monday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, ending an illustrious international career of nearly two decades.

In a press conference here, the 37-year-old Yuvraj made the announcement, saying: “It’s was a great rollercoaster ride and beautiful story but it has to come to an end. It was the right time to go.”

In 2000, Yuvraj began his ODI career against Kenya. He featured in 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is. He played a pivotal role in India’s two big triumphs – the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 World Cup.
