The Indian star batter, Virat Kohli has joined back the squad in South Africa and he will play the first Test match against South Africa starting from December 26 in Centurion.

Meanwhile, the media house News18 has reported that Kohli was in London during his to-day leave and the plans of taking leave were informed in advance to the team management.

As per reports given by News18, the BCCI official quoted that Kohli took a London trip ahead of the first Test match against South Africa. This was the reason why he did not take part in the intra-squad practice matches, BCCI added.

“Virat Kohli wasn’t going to play that game. The team management was aware of his plan and schedule. The leave isn’t something which happened overnight or due to a family emergency. Virat Kohli is very well planned when it comes to these things and his London trip was communicated and planned well in advance,” a senior BCCI official said to News18.

The official also revealed that Virat Kohli had multiple training sessions with the team before leaving for London on December 19.

India is going to play a two-match Test series against South Africa. The first match is set to start from December 26 and concludes on December 30. The second Test will be played from January 3 at Cape Town.
