Ten ducks; Under-19 team bowled out for four in Kerala

Kochi: Creating a unique record, Kasaragod under-19 girls’ team was bowled out for four runs against Wayanad in an inter-district cricket tournament at the Perinthalmanna Cricket stadium in Kerala’s Malappuram district on Wednesday.

Interestingly, the scoreboard of Kasaragod read 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 as all the batters returned to the pavilion for ducks. However, their total score came from extras conceded by the opponents.

The Wayanad openers took just one over to successfully chase the target of five runs and beat Kasaragod by 10 wickets.

Earlier, Kasaragod skipper S Akshatha won the toss and opted to bat first though she didn’t have imagined what awaits her side in the match.

Though Kasaragod openers  K Veekshitha and S Chaitra held on for the first two overs of the innings, their side fell like a pack of cards from the third over.
