An explosive innings of 96 off 57 balls by Shreyas Iyer helped Delhi Daredevils to register a narrow two-wicket win over the Gujarat Lions in IPL 10 last night. It was DD’s 5th win from 12 matches.
Earlier, the Gujarat Lions posted a mammoth total of 195/5 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan 34, Dinesh Karthik 40 and Aaron Finch 69 were the top scorers.
The Delhi Daredevils kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but Shreyas held the fort. When he returned to the pavilion, he has already done his work. DD reached 197/8 in 19.4 overs to win the match by two wickets.
Karun Nair 30 and Pat Cummins 24 were the other contributors to Delhi Daredevils. James Faulkner took two wickets. Shreyas Iyer was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’.
