Saina Nehwal settles for Bronze in Asian Games 2018

Jakarta: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal had to settle for the bronze medal after she lost to World No.1 Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the Women’s singles semifinals event at the 18th Asian Games here  in Indonesia on Monday.

Saina, who showed great determination, lost 17-21, 14-21 to her Chinese Taipei counterpart.

Her bronze is the first individual badminton medal for India in 36 years and it’s the first ever women’s individual badminton medal in the Asian Games.

With Saina settling for a badminton bronze, India’s bronze medals tally increased to 20 and the overall number increased to 37 medals.
