Despite having star batsmen such as Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore slumped to yet another humiliating defeat in the IPL by getting bowled out for below 100 against RPS.
Batting first, Pune Supergiant posted 157/3 in 20 overs. Rahul Tripathi 37, Steven Smith 45, Manoj Tiwary 44* were the top scorers.
In reply, RCB could manage just 96/9 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli contributed 55 to that paltry total. None other batsmen could reach double digit score.
For RPS, Imran Tahir took 3 wickets, while ‘Player of the Match’ Lockie Ferguson took two wickets. It was RCB’s 7th loss in 10 matches. They are placed at 7th spot in the points table, just ahead of Delhi Daredevils.
