Pakistan to meet Sri Lanka in 1st all-Asia battle in CWC 2019

New Delhi: Two Asian cricketing giants and one-time World Cup winners Sri Lanka and Pakistan will face each other in County Cricket grounds in Bristol on Friday. The match will start at 3 pm (IST).

After being demolished by West Indies in the opener, and then stunning numero uno England; Pakistan have given just another account of their unpredictability. They would want to continue their momentum when they meet Sri Lanka today. Sri Lanka themselves having beat minion Afghanistan would continue their winning run.

Pakistan also holds an all-win record over Sri Lanka in World Cup, with seven wins dating back to 1975 World Cup.

County Ground has historically been batting friendly with 350 having been breached three times in the recent past. Pakistan themselves were involved in one of those games against England when the two teams faced off in a bilateral series last month.

Runs are expected to flow once again today, but this World Cup has also seen some low-scoring games having nail-biting finishes. The first-ever all Asia battle between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be expected to have sufficient fireworks.
