Odisha Athlete Srabani Nanda awarded cash prize of Rs 9.4 lakhs

Bhubaneswar: In recognition of her exceptional achievements in the world of athletics, Odisha sprinter Srabani Nanda was conferred with a cash prize of Rs 9.4 lakhs by the Department of Sports and Youth Services today. The award ceremony, held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, celebrated Srabani’s remarkable performances at the 37th National Games 2023 and other prominent sports leagues.

Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Tusharkanti Behera, presented the trophy, certificate, and cash prize to Srabani, applauding her outstanding contributions to the sport. Minister Behera expressed immense pride in Srabani’s accomplishments, highlighting her ability to bring laurels to Odisha on the international stage. He commended her unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and reaffirmed the Naveen Patnaik government’s unwavering support for nurturing sporting talents like Srabani.

The event also witnessed the presence of Srabani’s Coach Neelamadhab Deo and Physio Arjita Lenka, who were recognized for their invaluable contributions to Srabani’s success.
