The unveiling of these top cricketers marks a major milestone as the league prepares to showcase the best of Odisha’s cricketing talent on a professional platform, informed the OCA.
The six players named as Marquee Players for the inaugural season are:
- Subhranshu Senapati
- Swastik Samal
- Govinda Poddar
- Sandeep Pattnaik
- Aashirwad Swain
- Suryakant Pradhan
These cricketers have consistently demonstrated their skill, determination, and leadership on the field, making them icons for aspiring players across the state. Each franchise in the Odisha Pro T20 League will be anchored around these marquee stars, ensuring a balance of experience, star value, and competitive spirit.
Speaking on the announcement, OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera said, “We are proud to introduce our Marquee Players, who have carried the flag of Odisha cricket with distinction. Their inclusion sets a strong foundation for the league and will inspire young talent to dream bigger. The Odisha Pro T20 League is a stepping stone to take Odisha cricket to greater heights, and these players will play a central role in that journey.”
The Odisha Pro T20 League will begin from September 15 and will continue till September 24. A total of six teams Angul Fireballs, Cuttack Shields, Dhenkanal Dynamos, Puri Jaguars, Sambalpur Lions, and Sundargarh Royals will take part in the league. The OPTL will have 22 matches, including 15 league round and three playoffs.
The Odisha Pro T20 League aims to provide a professional structure that nurtures emerging players, raises the standard of competition, and offers fans an electrifying cricketing spectacle.
The Arivaa Sports, a strategic management partner with experience executing successful T20 formats in Bengal, Vidarbha, and Saurashtra, is all set to back the league.
