Mumbai Cricket Association Postpones T20 Mumbai League Till Further Notice

Mumbai: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to postpone the third edition of T20 league on Thursday in view of the rising Covid cases in the country.

The Governing Council chairman of T20 Mumbai League Milind Narvekar said on his offcial twitter handle that the decision was taken to reduce the load on the authorities.

“Given the current situation, President Vijay Patil Ji and I, in my capacity as the Chairman, have decided not to conduct the T20 Mumbai League till further notice. This is our way to reduce the load on the machinery and also making sure everyone is safe,” tweeted Narvekar.

The first two editions of the league were held in 2018 and 2019. The third edition, which was originally slated to be held in 2020, couldn’t be organized due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic has also affected the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) as several international players have left the tournament mid-season due to the worsening situation in India.
