Khelo India: Odisha to face Haryana for men’s U-21 Hockey Gold

Pune: Odisha will face Haryana in the men’s Under-19 Khelo India Youth Games hockey final to be played here on January 15.

In Sunday’s semi-finals, Odisha beat Uttar Pradesh 2-1 to seal the final berth. Skipper Nilam Sanjeep Xess (4th minute and Krishna Tirkey (6th minute) scored one goal each for Odisha in a high-tension battle, while Manish Rajbahar netted the only goal at 42nd minute for the losing side.

In the other semifinals, Haryana outplayed neighbours Punjab 3-1. Skipper Mandip Mor (12th minute), Yashdeep Siwach (45th Minute) and Kuldeep ( 46th minute) scored one goal wach for the winning side. Karajwinder Singh (23th minute) scored a consolation goal for Punjab. 

On Tuesday, Punjab and UP will play the third classification match at 2 PM, while Odisha to take on Haryana for the gold at 4 PM.
