Mumbai: Suryakumar Yadav’s maiden IPL century powered Mumbai Indians (MI) to 218/5 against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday. Even though Gujarat Titans were defeated by Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2023, Afghan superstar Rashid Khan stole the show. At the age of 24, Rashid once again demonstrated why he is regarded as the T20 format legend. Rashid’s explosive performance with the bat on Friday should make it a crime to not refer to him as an all-rounder. Against the Mumbai Indians, the 24-year-old scored an undefeated 79 runs in only 32 balls.
Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha start off slow as four singles come in the first over bowled by Behrendorff. By the end of Gujarat Toitans stood at 82/5.
Two distinct parts made up Gujarat Titans’ chase; in the first, MI bowlers put them out of their despair by eliminating half of the team in less than 10 overs. When David Miller was out on the last ball of the 12th over, the second half began, and Rashid Khan entered to bat. With his spectacular batting performance, he utterly outclassed the Mumbai Indians’ bowlers.
Rashid scored 79, but the Gujrat Titans lost the game as a result of a bad first half. However, his 10 sixes did was amuse for the spectators at ground.
