The Mumbai Indian won their last league match in IPL to qualify for the playoffs as the top team. The Sunrisers Hyderabad too qualified as the second team.
In the first match, Sunrisers Hyderabad 158/2 (Warner 69*, Vijay Shankar 63*) beat Gujarat Lions 154 (Dwayne Smith 54, Ishan Kishan 61) by 8 wickets to qualify for play-offs. Mohammed Siraj, who took 4 wickets for SRH, was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’.
In the second match, Mumbai Indians 173/5 (Saurabh Tiwary 52, Rayudu 63) beat KKR 164/8 (Manish Pandey 33) by 9 runs to finish at the top of Points Table. Ambati Rayudu won the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
With this win, Mumbai Indians became the first team to register 100 T20 wins.
