Indian men tame Canada 7-3 at Sultan Azlan Shah Cup

Ipoh: Indian men defeated Canada by 7-3 in their fourth round-robin match of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup here in Malaysia on Wednesday evening.

Dragflicker Varun Kumar opened the scoring from India’s first penalty corner at the 12th minute in the first quarter.

For India, Mandeep Singh completed his hat-trick in theone-sided match while, Amit Rohidas, Nilakanta Sharma, Vivek Sagar and Varun Kumar netted one goal each.

On the other hand, Fin Boorthroyd, James Wallace and Mark Pearson scored one goal each for the losing side.

With today’s win, India have strengthened their chances of making it to the Final on Saturday.

India will play its final round-robin game against Poland on Friday.
