Indian Grand Prix-4: Student from KISS College win bronze, selected World U-20 Atlantic Championship
Bhubaneswar: Lalu Prasad Bhoi of KISS College under the KIIT University won the Bronze Medal in the Long Jump event of the Indian Grand Prix -4 being held at Kalinga Stadium.
Bhoi, who is the Plus Tree first-year commerce student finished third in the Men’s long jump with 7.58 m in the Indian Grand Prix-4.
Apart from winning the bronze medal, Lalu Prasad Bhoi, who represented Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics HPC, also qualified for the World Junior Athletics Championship, which will be held at Colombia between August 1 and August 6 this year.
Kerala’s Muhammed Anees Yahiya grabbed the gold medal after jumping a whopping distance of 8.15m.
Secretary to CM (5T) Sri VK Pandian graced the closing ceremony of the Indian Grand Prix 4 & presented the Best Male and Female Athlete of the competition with mementos.
Lalu Prasad Bhoi from the Odisha RF Athletics HPC cannot contain his happiness as he breaks his own record and qualifies for the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships.
He says he will try to give his best at the World Championships and make Odisha proud.
