India Women win first ODI by 66 run against England
Mumbai: India registered a massive 66-run win over the World Champions England in the 1st Women’s ODI at the Wankhede Stadium here on Friday.
After winning the toss the visitors decided to field fast. Georgia Elwiss, Natalie Sciver and Sophie Ecclestone took two wickets each and restricted India to 202 runs.
Jemimah Rodrigues (48) and Mithali Raj (44) were the highest run-getters for the host.
Chasing a low score of 203, England were bundled out for 136 runs in 41 overs. The lower down batswomen namely Anya Shrubsole, Sophie Ecclestone and Alex Hartley were out for duck while Natalie Sciver contributed 44 runs, the highest among the England team.
Ekta Bisht adjudged the Player of the Match for her taking 4 wickets for 25 runs.

With the win, India took a 1-0 win in the 3-ODI series.
