India Defeats West Indies By Innings & 272 Runs; Kuldeep Yadav Shines

Rajkot: India defeated West Indies on Friday by an innings and 272 runs in the third day of the opening test to register its biggest ever win in Test cricket. After the stupendous win, India now has a 1-0 lead in the two match test series.

After a brilliant bowling effort in the first innings, Indian spinners repeated their performance in the second, defeating West Indies at196 runs in the final session. Kuldeep Yadav (5-57) took maiden wickets in the second innings as India effortlessly defeated the cluless West Indies team.

Forced to follow-on after conceding a 468-run lead on Day 3, the West Indies batsman were bowled out for 196 runs in the second innings. India’s Ashwin was the main player in the morning and Kuldeep dominated in the second session. The West Indies players payed for their recklessness in the game and for going ahead with too many strokes.

The West Indies team showed no enthusiasm and surrendered too easily. Kieran Powell (83) fought a lone battle as wickets tumbled for the Windies like a pack of cards at the other end. Along with Kuldeep, Ravindra Jadeja (3-35) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-71) picked wickets at regular intervals helping India register a comprehensive win.
