India crush Pakistan by 9 wickets, march into 2018 Asia Cup final

Dubai: India thrashed arch rivals Pakistan comprehensively by nine wickets in a Super Four encounter of the Asia Cup cricket here last night.

The Men-in-blue easily chased down the victory target of 238 in only 39.3 overs, marking India’s biggest win against Pakistan in terms of number of wickets lost in ODIs.

Skipper Rohit Sharma (111*) and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (114) destroyed the reputation of the Pakistan bowling attack by virtually thrashing them all over the ground through a 210 runs partnership in 33.3 overs.

Earlier, brilliant bowling by spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and pacer Jasprit Bumrah restricted Pakistan to 237 for 7 in the stipulated 50 overs, after they decided to bat after winning the toss.

With the win, India took a giant stride towards summit clash of the six-nation tournament. They will next take on Afghanistan tomorrow in the Super Four Clash.
