India beat Astralia by 6 wickets in the 1st ODI

Hyderabad: Riding on the sparkling knocks of Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni India beat visiting team Australia by 6 wickets in the 1st match of the ODI series played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here today.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni did it again for India in his style as he gave a very good partnership to young Kedar Jadhav in the run chase of 237. Jadhav played strokes all around the ground and made 81 unbeaten along with Dhoni’s 59 not out taking India to the target in just 48.2 overs.

While Rohit and Kohli gave India a solid start with their 76-run partnership, at stage India seemed to be in trouble with losing 4 wickets for just 99 runs after their dismissal. But as Dhoni joined Jadhav the partnership produced the match wining 141 runs out of 149 deliveries.

Earlier in the day, a superb bowling effort from India restricted Australia to 236/7 (50 Overs) after being asked to field by Aaron Finch. Pacer Mohammed Shami (2/44) along with Kuldeep Yadav (2/46) almost broke the backbone of the Australian batting lineup.
