Ind Vs Aus: India win second ODI by 6 wickets, level series

Adelaide: India registered a 6 wicket win over Australia in the 2nd ODI here today.

With India’s win, the three-math series currently level at 1-1.

For India, Virat Kohli scored 104 runs in 111 balls and MS Dhoni 55 runs in 54 balls.

The Indian captain, who slammed his 39th ODI ton, has been declared the Man of the Match.

After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first. Shaun Marsh’s 131 and Glenn Maxwell’s 48 runs helped the host to put a total of 298-9 in their 50 overs.

With 7.60 economy, Mohammed Siraj conceded 76 runs without wicket in his 10 overs. Likewise, Kuldeep Yadav was also wicket-less. He gave 66 runs in his 10 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4/45) and Mohammed Shami (3/58) were the most successful bowlers for the visitors.  

Chasing a target of 299, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave India a good start. The opener put up a partnership of 47 runs in 7.4 overs before Dhawan was out for 32 runs. Rohit, who hit a ton in the first ODI, was looking good along with the Indian Captain. However, he scored only 43 runs.

It was another unsuccessful day for Ambati Rayudu who threw his wicket to Maxwell for only 24 runs. But, there came Dhoni and played a brilliant innings of 55 off 54 balls after Kohli’s 104 runs.

Dinesh Karthik’s quick score of 25 off 14 balls helped India to finish the match with four more balls to spare.
