Hockey World Cup: Netherlands thrash Malaysia 7-0; Germany beat Pakistan 1-0

Bhubaneswar: The Netherlands thrashed this year’s Asian Games silver medallist Malaysia 7-0 in a Pool-D match of Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018 at the Kalinga Stadium here in Odisha on Saturday.

While Jeroen Hertzberger of Netherlands scored three goals, Mirco Pruijser, Mink van der Weerden, Robbert Kemperman and Thierry Brinkman scored one each.

In another match, sixth-ranked Germany defeated four time title holders Pakistan 1-0 in the same venue.

Germany’s Miltkau Marco scored the only goal for his side.

On Sunday, Canada will face South Africa at 5 PM while hosts India will lock horn with Belgium at 7 PM in Pool-C Matches.
